Surface Of Memory

The architectural gesture begins with a singular copper panel — measuring 85 by 45 meters —
draped across the site. Through its inclination, this monumental surface generates spatiality: on
one side it creates a sense of enclosure and withdrawal, while on the other it gradually opens
toward the greenery of the site, rising with an uplifting gesture. The panel operates as shelter,
boundary, and landmark, embodies both protection and exposure, concealment and revelation.
The façade facing the street is articulated with a series of restrained copper panels (1.5 by 5 meters
each) punctuated by three large apertures. These openings serve as primary light wells, flooding
the interior with natural light and establishing visual connections with the city of Santiago.
